As part of our commitment to the safety of our students and families, our leadership team continues to meet twice daily to discuss updates to policies and procedures in response to the spread of COVID-19 in Los Angeles. This morning, we learned that a parent in our community is likely to be diagnosed with COVID-19. Although the CDC only mandates school closures in response to confirmed illnesses among students, we have chosen to dismiss students from regularly scheduled classes beginning tomorrow, Thursday, March 12, as a precautionary measure.

Our administrative team has already been diligently preparing to offer distance learning to our students. Over the next two days, our faculty will complete their transition to online curricula to begin online learning for students on Monday, March 16. You will receive information over the weekend in order to help you access these online resources. All parent-teacher conferences next week will be conducted either by phone or video conference.

We don’t know how long this will remain the case. We are continuing to monitor the situation and following the guidance of public health officials. We will keep you informed as the situation evolves.

Please remember that, even as we continue to learn deeply, be creative, experience wholeness, and make great happen from the safety of our homes, you remain part of a loving and caring community concerned for your spiritual, emotional, and physical well-being. Should you or a family member experience any illness, injury, loss, or concern, please reach out to us at [email protected]. Your family at Wise remains here to support you.

Warmly,
Tami
