KINDERGARTEN

  • Next week we will be starting our first unit of “All about me!” where students will have the chance to learn about each other and their teachers!
  • If you haven’t done so already, please have your child bring in the following items:
    • Full change of uniform labeled with your child’s name (uniform, underwear & socks)
    • 1 package of Ziploc baggies
    • Wipes
    • Family photo
    • Smock (an old, adult-size button-down shirt – you will not get it back!)
    • Hebrew name written on a piece of paper

5th GRADE

  • Responsibility Reminder: All WISE SCHOOL POLICY – STUDENTS are responsible for their daily academic needs, including uniforms, homework, and materials. Starting this week, students without necessary materials will receive a Responsibility Reminder and an appropriate consequence (i.e. making up assignments, losing 10 minutes of recess, etc.)
  • Reading and Math groups start Tuesday, September 6th. Stay tuned for further details, such as necessary novels.

6th GRADE

ALL SCHOOL

  • Shofar Blowing – Beginning September 6th at 7:50 a.m. – According to tradition, the shofar sound in the month of Elul “wakes us up” in preparation for the High Holy Days. Beginning September 6th, we will hold a special short shofar blowing ceremony every school day at 7:50 a.m. This coming Tuesday we will blow the shofar at our morning Music Assembly, and from then on it will be blown on Faber Field. If your child has a shofar and would like to blow it, please send it with him or her. Ask your child’s teachers to keep the shofar in class or, if you prefer, your child can bring it home every day.
  • Parking Decals were mailed earlier this week. You should receive them by this Friday, September 2nd. New decals must be on all cars by Wednesday, September 14th. If you have any questions, please contact Rabbi Josh Knobel.
  • Tot Shabbat – Saturday, September 17th at 10:00 a.m. on Witzman Yard
  • WiseFit – Session #1
