Dear Wise School Early Childhood & Parenting Families,
The High Holy Days are always a special time of year for gathering with family and close friends and reflecting back on the year that has just come to a close.
It was wonderful sharing our Rosh Hashanah,” Birthday of the World,” Family Service with so many of you on Tuesday, September 14. As we move through the month, I wanted to remind you of some upcoming holiday celebrations that we hope to share with you:
Tashlich, Sunday, September 20, 2015 – 3:00 p.m.
Tashlich at the Santa Monica Beach, Lifeguard Station #24. Today your child came home with a Ziploc bags you can fill with bread crumbs that we can sprinkle out into the ocean, symbolic of casting away our sins from this past year. We are going to be gathering in front of Lifeguard Station #24 – beginning at 3:00 p.m.
Yom Kippur Children’s Service, Wednesday, September 23, 2015 – 3:00 p.m.
Marilyn and I would love for you and your family to join us at the Skirball Center at 3:00 p.m. for a meaningful children’s service led by Rabbi Yoshi Zwieback and Cantor Kyle Cotler.
Beit Issie Farmers Market- Friday, September 25 8 a.m.-11 a.m. Barron Field.
The Early Childhood Chesed project each year is to collect our tzedakah money each week to supplement our friend, Nika’s tuition at the Beit Issie Shapiro School in Israel. Send a dollar with your child so when they visit they can purchase a snack of either organic fruits and/or vegetables. Parents can also stop by to purchase your produce for the weekend!
Tot Shabbat Family Service, Saturday, September 26, 2015 –10:00 a.m. – 12:00 noon.
Looking for a wonderful way to celebrate Shabbat as a community? Join us at our first Tot Shabbat for the school year designed especially for families with children ages birth to 5 years of age. Our Shabbat will be in Hershenson Hall, followed by a brunch and a DJ who will be playing music for all ages! To register, please visit:mycart.wisela.org.
