Wise School Receives the CAG 5-Star Award
The California Association for the Gifted (CAG) has awarded Wise School the Five Star Award for Gifted Education.
“The California Association for the Gifted is pleased to announce that Wise School has received the Five Star Award in recognition for its use of the standards for gifted education for all students, and by being a model to show how gifted education can be generalized to effect all children in a school.”
“CAG feels that it is important to acknowledge the efforts of educational agencies that have continuously and comprehensively maintained the quality of gifted education. The idea that the education of gifted students is valued and the realization that the education of the gifted affects the quality of education for all students underscores the purposes for the honor that accompanies the Five Star Gifted Program Award.”
Several Wise faculty members will be attending the CAG conference at the end of February to receive the award and participate in annual conference activities. Our Director of Curriculum and Instruction, Karen Anderson, will be teaching in the demonstration school and presenting sessions, along with selected members of our teaching staff.
The acknowledgment of progress in our work in partnership with specific faculty members from the USC Rossier School of Education is not only an honor. It also demonstrates that the Wise Learning Process is recognized statewide as a model for cutting edge educational practices. We fundamentally believe that all children have the capacity, creativity, and curiosity to engage in gifted education, and we have seen our approach come to fruition through our curriculum development over the past three years.
We would like to thank our teachers, administration, and parents for being open to the development of this curriculum, and are honored to be 1 of 4 schools and the only Jewish day school to receive this prestigious award.
