Dear Wise School Parents,
It was wonderful having all of you on campus last night for Open House. I hope you enjoyed seeing the amazing work your children have done throughout the year. If you did not have an opportunity to make it to the Art Show in Tyberg, it will be open all day today – I encourage you to see the unbelievable art created by our students. I want to send a special congratulations to our 2nd graders, as they culminated their Heroes Projects last night with a fantastic performance and their beautiful Heroes Museum. I am in awe of the outstanding work done by all of our students this past year – they truly made great happen and I couldn’t be more proud.
On a very exciting note, you now have the opportunity for an inside sneak peek at Katz Family Pavilion and Shalom Garden:

ABCs of Los Angeles Book
In 3rd grade social studies we have learned about the history of Los Angeles and the impact of various social groups of Angelenos. In our most recent unit on historical sites in Los Angeles, students independently researched a historical site, wrote a report about their historical site, and prepared an oral presentation to share with their class. We are so proud of our students and can’t wait to see how the final book comes out. Books will arrive before the end of school!

Library Book Awards Assembly | Friday, May 26 | 8:15 a.m. | Sanctuary
Our Book Awards Assembly will be held on Friday, May 26, at 8:15 a.m. in the Sanctuary. Parents of students who have completed the required reading will be receiving an invitation to the Assembly.
In our closing classes with students, we discussed the importance of reflection on all our experiences through Mindfulness. What came from these reflections was a little different than how most Mindfulness classes end. Students were able to drop into silence and then discuss how challenging Mindfulness can be. It took courage and vulnerability for students to take opportunities to turn inward and share what arises in the moment. There was a sense of “work in progress” and more exploration to be done. Through their shared stories, students showed that they are starting to build a foundation of Mindfulness, where mindsets are held more tenderly, kindly, and confidently. They are also taking care of themselves with a new found awareness. It is an honor and a privilege to stand by your children at Wise School! The Mindfulness Team would like to thank each and every student for our moments shared together. We may be their Mindfulness teachers, but these students are some of our greatest teachers! With Gratitude, The Mindfulness Team
