Guardianship Nomination Workshop with Wise School Parent Rozita Yacobi
Wednesday, January 25th | 6:30 p.m. | Plotkin Chapel

Wise School Parent and LA attorney Rozita Yacobi will be hosting a FREE parent education workshop where you will learn the easy, but little known steps you must take to ensure the well-being and care of your children. Unknowingly, most parents have not adequately protected their children if the unthinkable happened to them, either by never naming guardians or by making at least one of the 6 common mistakes. With a parent’s and expert’s perspective, Rozi will help you understand why naming guardians for your children is so important and guide you to avoid making the 6 common mistakes that parents often make when naming guardians. Through the workshop, you will legally document successor guardians for your minor children. The event is limited to 20 individuals or couples. RSVP REQUIRED – RSVP HERE. Please note: The workshop focuses on guardianship for minor children only and not for the estate.

Mindfulness
We ended 2016 with Mindful eating. The kids enjoyed eating different kinds of fruit, mostly “Cuties,” with attention and intention. As a result of this experience, the kids became aware of seeing, tasting, smelling and feeling fruit like never before. Their responses were filled with excitement, intrigue, and astonishment in relationship to everyday food. This week we plan to focus on our ever changing emotions and how, through Mindfulness, we can learn to turn even our difficult emotions into our greatest teachers and sources of strength.

Carpool: Morning drop-off and afternoon pickup
We would like to remind parents of our carpool procedures as stated in our Parent Handbook. Abiding by the rules will make our campus, safer, friendlier, and more efficient. If a member of our staff approaches you in order to enforce the rules, they will do so only with respect, professionalism, kindness, and courtesy. Please return the favor when speaking with them. Thank you for your help in keeping our Wise students safe.

Uniform Reminder: Please help us enforce our uniform policy by making sure your child is dressed in uniform each morning and, for students in 4th – 6th grades, brings proper uniform P.E. attire and shoes for P.E. class. If your child is not appropriately dressed, he or she will receive a uniform violation. As our Parent Handbook states, recurring infractions will lead to a family meeting with a school administrator.

A Message From Nurse Gail re: Magnus Emails – It has come to our attention that Magnus emails may be going to your junk mail. Please check your junk mail – if you have not completed your Student Health Tracker, it must be done immediately.
