Ready, set, debate!

Over the last 4 years, the Wise School Debate Team made quite a name for themselves on campus, earning dozens of individual, team, and school awards in competitions against some of Los Angeles’ most elite schools.

In Debate, students learn to apply all of the skills they develop at Wise School, including close and careful listening, critical thinking, analysis, and problem-solving. Students learn how to deliver informed speeches, citing evidence and reasoning based on their own research.  In addition, by examining all sides of an issue, Wise School debaters develop empathy and the ability to see ideas from multiple perspectives.
